Pest Control 101!
We’ve provided
just a few pest prevention tips that your business can employ to avoid bug and
insect infestations and the potential health and property threats that pests
and rodents can pose.
1. "Pest-proof" your business by being vigilant of building maintenance needs.
2. Dispose of garbage regularly and store in sealed garbage containers.
3. If you notice cracks and holes on the exterior walls of your business, including entry points for utilities and pipes, contact your Property Manager to let them know of potential entry points for pests.
4. Be sure your employees keep food sealed and stored properly.
5. If you notice areas with standing water around your location, notify your Property Manager of this issue. Standing water issues will easily attract pests to a location.
5. Clean high-volume areas daily, such as public eating areas and kitchenettes, where crumbs and trash are more likely to build up.
6. Consult your Lease Agreement and familiarize yourself with pest control clauses within your lease. Often it is the tenant's responsibility to cover costs associated with pest control services. Call your Property Manager if you notice signs of a potential pest infestation. Your Property Manager will recommend a reputable pest control company.
